8-Day Sahara Nomadic Trek: Stargazing & Walking Among the Dunes

Escape into the Moroccan Sahara on an unforgettable 8-day nomadic journey from Marrakech. Walk among golden dunes, ride camels with Berber guides, sleep under star-filled skies, and discover hidden oasis villages in a truly authentic desert experience.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, we meet you and transfer you to your riad in the Medina. Free time to relax and enjoy dinner in the city.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Zagora – Tagounite – Oulad Driss

A scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Follow ancient caravan routes once used by traders from Timbuktu. Pass through the lush Draa Valley filled with palm groves. Visit a local argan oil cooperative before arriving in Oulad Driss. Dinner and overnight in tents or rooms.

Day 3: Oulad Driss – Rass Rich (5h walk)

Begin your nomadic trekking experience with Berber guides and camels. Visit the old ksar of Bono and meet locals. Walk through desert landscapes toward the dunes. Enjoy lunch en route, followed by an evening of traditional music, storytelling, and unforgettable stargazing under the Sahara sky.

Day 4: Rass Rich – Erg Sahel (5h walk)

Walk alongside your camel caravan across rocky plains and golden dunes to Erg Sahel. Learn how to bake traditional sand bread. Enjoy a peaceful desert night with fire, music, and stars.

Day 5: Erg Sahel – Tiraf Village (5h walk)

Continue trekking to Tiraf, a small oasis village where life remains traditional. Discover local culture, clay houses, and date farming. Overnight camping with dinner and Berber music.

Day 6: Tiraf – Tagounite – Ait Ben Haddou

Drive toward the famous UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. Stop in Tamegroute to visit traditional pottery workshops. Overnight in a hotel near the kasbah.
